The "Magnetar candidates", namely the Soft Gamma-ray Repeaters and the Anomalous X-ray Pulsars, are a small class of X-ray pulsars believed to have ultra-strong magnetic fields (B of order 10^{14}-10^{15} Gauss). The puzzling properties of these sources clearly distinguish them from other known neutron stars. However, despite the large observational campaigns, the nature and the physical processes involved in their emission are still poorly understood. Recent studies revealed jets-like structures around one of these sources. The detection of these jets in a larger sample of magnetars would be of paramount importance either for understanding the nature of these highly magnetic pulsars, or for studies related to the nature of the jets themselves: two important and still unanswered issues of the modern high energy astrophysics. We propose to observe 3 magnetar candidates in order to search for possible weak radio counterparts and for jet-like structures.
