Two satellites expected to provide important observational capability for planetary studies before and during the operational phase of the Cassini project are described: the Hubble Space Telescope, and the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer. For the former, initial complement of instruments; initial observing plans; and prospects for second generation instruments are discussed. For the latter telescope, desired features are listed.
