Physically different cases of the problem of two bodies with variable masses are classified in this paper based on the general differential equation of relative motion. The cases considered include the one when only one mass is taken as variable and the case of satellite motion around a fixed center of constant mass when the mass of the satellite grows due to stationary particles. Equations are derived which enable all possible cases of the two-body problem to be obtained when the masses vary according to the hypothesis of Mescherskii (1952).
