The nonlinear propagation of field-aligned, circularly polarized electromagnetic waves in an electron-positron plasma is reconsidered. Previous investigations are generalized to include the effects of finite frequency density modifications of the Alfven waves, time-derivative ponderomotive force, and charge separation caused by the radiation pressure. A set of nonlinear equations governing the coupling of the electromagnetic radiation with the electron plasma motion along the external magnetic field is derived. New kinds of envelope soliton solutions are presented.
