Sensitive radio observations of a large field of view surrounding the galactic center reveal the presence of three examples of a new type of radio emission structure: long (not less than 30 pc), narrow (not greater than 0.5 pc), thread-like features which are remarkably uniform in brightness along their observed lengths. Because they are relatively isolated and not clearly associated with any notable center of activity, they differ from previously reported filamentary structures near the galactic center, which are grouped together to form the prominent radio Arc. There are some indications that the 'threads' are interacting with the Arc, which would locate them in the vicinity of the galactic center. Their physical nature is undetermined, although several possibilities can be ruled out.
