Ccd Observations: Image Processing, Ccd Observations: Methods Of Reduction

A benchmark test on CCD data reduction using IRAF is performed as the first step of a study of high performance image data reduction. The results show that the reduction is strongly influenced by I/O performance. Several ideas on workstations for image data reduction are proposed on the basis of the results. Future study to clear up the I/O bottleneck is also discussed.
