The simulations based on the standard Lambda CDM model indicate that weakly non-linear structures of supercluster dimensions become rare at z 1. However, large-scale structures in the distribution of Lyman-alpha emitters (LAEs) have been detected at z=3 (Hayashino et al. (2004) and even z=4.86 (Shimasaku et al. 2003, 2004). If the model assumptions are correct , we should expect a strong evolution of the properties of the large-scale structure between now (z< 0.3) and z 1. To confront the controversy, the properties of the local superclusters need to be compared to those at, for example, z 0.8. To remedy the lack of appropriate high redshift samples, we propose to use the Gemini Multi-Object Spectrograph (GMOS) during POOR WEATHER conditions to observe three (out of four) superclusters found within the FSVS Cluster Catalogue (Soechting et al., 2006a) with red-sequence redshifts 0.75 < z < 0.85. We are submitting two identical proposals (2 targets at Gemini-North and 1 target at Gemini-South) to obtain 180 spectra per supercluster.
