Satellite phenomena are unique events, so it is important to be ready at the fixed time. Observations have to be very well organised; the goal of this paper is to describe most of the problems concerning this type of observation. For this purpose the author used his experience of mutual phenomena of the Galilean satellites. Another important fact is the generalisation of the use of CCD detectors which are generally used to make long exposures, so they are not well adapted for fast acquisitions. It is common to have an acquisition time around one minute! The paper is organised by a list of questions concerning the observations, from the event to the final result of the measurement.
