We present an accurate LTE chemical analysis of HD 187885 on the basis of high-resolution, high signal-to-noise spectra. The low iron abundance of [Fe/H]=-0.5 confirms the old, low-mass nature of the supergiant. With [C/Fe]=+0.9, [N/Fe]=+0.7, [O/Fe]=+0.6 and above all the high s-process elemental abundance of [s/Fe]=+1.2, also the post-AGB nature of this object is corroborated. Together with HD 56126, it is the only known optically bright post-AGB star displaying such clear-cut abundance patterns pointing towards an efficient third dredge-up. This paper emphasises that the class of optically bright post-AGB stars is highly chemicaily diverse with only HD 56126 and HD 187885 being conform to theoretical predictions.
