In order to meet the regulation requirements of modern liquid propellant rocket engines, a flexible proportional electrically driven actuator has been developed for ball and butterfly valves. This paper describes how the gear system located between the electric driving motor and the flow part was designed taking into account the constraints linked to the electric motor itself and those related to external conditions.
