The Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC) has been, and continues to, work on the software for processing the Gaia data. The result will be an unprecedented celestial catalogue of about one thousand million objects with astrometric accuracies far exceeding anything currently available. But little has been heard about the catalogue itself, its availability, content etc. Some work has been done in this area and the status is explained in this short article.
