Solar Atmosphere, Emerging Flux
Scientific paper
We have studied physical processes of emerging flux in the solar atmosphere by using MHD numerical simulations. It is found that: (1) Depending on the initial state of the emerging flux, several characteristic magnetic structures, (e.g., the helical structure as a seed of prominence, and the sigmoid structure observed in soft X-rays) are formed in the corona; (2) Coronal jets are produced by chromospheric evaporation as the result of magnetic reconnection between emerging flux and pre-existing overlying magnetic fields; and (3) Our scaling-law on mass of such coronal jets explains their density very well.
