The methods used and results of worldwide photometric imaging of the solar corona during total eclipses are summarized. Combining the observations from different sites enlarges the temporal window of the observations from minutes at a single site to several hours of data. Attention is given to techniques applied to estimate the contributions from light reflected by the coronal plasma and by dust in the interplanetary medium. Sample coronographic images illustrate methods employed to study coronal structures, mainly by tuning the instruments to H-alpha wavelengths. Magnetographic data are also discussed which are used to map the magnetic field around the sun and thereby gain information on the solar dynamo.
