The Galaxy, Parallaxes, Stellar Counts

Scientific paper

We present mean parallaxes and the number of stars down to 23 magnitude in the Johnson B, V and R photometric system (that corresponds to the modern observational material). These data have been computed on the basis of two fundamental equations of stellar statistics. We use the model of the Galaxy which includes the disk with main sequence stars and giants of population I, the thick disk, and the spheroid. Mean parallaxes are calculated for intervals of 10 deg. and 45 deg. on the Galactic latitude and longitude, respectively.
