It is explicitly shown here that some of the integral expressions commonly used in the derivation of various synchrotron radiation formulas are either divergent or simply incorrect. The frequency distribution of the synchrotron radiation is recalculated avoiding the use of those incorrect expressions. It is explicitly verified that even in Westfold's (1959) approach, where the ultrarelativistic nature of electron motion is assumed from the beginning, the correct results are still obtained without making use of the incorrect expressions.
