X-ray radiation from active galactic nuclei (AGN) shows random intensity variation with various time scales. The author evaluates the X-ray variability with power spectrum and defines relative time scale of the variability for each AGN. Under the assumption that this variability is proportional to the size of the central black hole, we can estimate its mass. In this article the author introduces the method and shows the results of its application to Seyfert galaxies. Comparison to the mass estimated from broad line width is also made.
