Variables: Finding Charts, Variables: Magnitudes
Scientific paper
Reports the discovery by M. Collins of an uncatalogued variable star in Auriga. The position is α=05h50m10s, δ=+54°22'51″(2000). The star is probably GSC 3754.0324. A finding chart and magnitude sequence is given. Subsequent examination of Collins' archive of 49 epochs reveals this suspect on only 16 occasions. A least squares sinusoidal fit to the data suggests a mean magnitude range of 11.0 to 15.0 with a linear ephemeris JDmax = 2447468.01+305.82d×E with mean errors ±4.13 d (epoch) and ±0.72 d (period). The latest bright maximum may be part of an even longer 6-year cycle.
