Vertical Circles: Flexure

Scientific paper

It is demonstrated that a significant fraction of the random error of a single declination determination (ɛδ), as well as of the seasonal error (Δδα) in declination, has its origin in the temperature dependent variability of the residual flexure of the Belgrade Vertical Circle. The temperature coefficient of flexure is equal to 0″054/°C.
