With the increasing precision of helioseismic measurements, the importance of systematic errors are increasing too. In this poster I will examine the importance of various possible systematic errors in the measurements on which some of the recent discoveries in helioseismology rely. Among the problems I will examine are the effects of the distortion of the p-modes by differential rotation, the horizontal displacement and the use of a-coefficients instead of individual m splittings. All of these problems could potentially cause the frequency splittings to be significantly biased. The research presented here was supported by NASA contract NAG5-3077 to MDI at Stanford University.
