An insect-eye Fabry-Pérot spectrograph has been used to obtain profiles of the [O III] λ5007 line from 32 positions on the Helix nebula (NGC 7293) north-east of the centre where the two "arms" of the helix overlap in the line of sight. The profiles show two components separated by ˜20 km/s over almost the entire region studied. The mean heliocentric radial velocity of this region is -22.5 km/s.
