Numerical models of the evolution of H II regions are presented, taking into account the fact that star formation occurs inside a dense cloud. The gas dynamical effects produced after the ionization of the cloud's edge, (from the inside) are here postulated to determine the size, velocity field, and large scale density variation observed in some H II regions. The consequences and observational predictions of these models are also given.
