Results are reported for interferometric H-alpha observations of the old supernova remnant IC 443, which were performed with a high-contrast Fabry-Perot etalon and a contact image converter attached to the Cassegrain foci of 50-, 125-, and 260-cm reflectors. The radial velocities of the fastest filaments in the bright NE part of the remnant and the expansion velocities of the faint SW filamentary system are found to range from -220 to plus 220 km/s (LSR). A search for high-velocity gas reveals the presence of low-surface-brightness amorphous H-alpha emission from gas with velocities of -350 to plus 240 km/s in the bright NE sector of the remnant. The observations are shown to be in good agreement with a model of blast-wave propagation in the interstellar medium with both a strong large-scale density gradient and small-scale density fluctuations. A radial-velocity distribution for the filaments is derived which implies an egg-shaped shell with the major axis normal to the line of sight, a density-gradient scale height of 7 pc, and a postshock gas velocity of 280 km/s.
