First results of observations of photometric variations in the near infrared are presented for the young and active low-luminosity objects NGC 1333 IRS 13 and L 1551 IRS 5. Based on the results of a preliminary analysis, it is suggested that accretion phenomena occurring in the disks should be considered among other plausible causes for the observed near-IR variations.
