The BIFs in the 3.7-3.8 Ga Nuvvuagittuq Belt have heavy Fe isotopic
compositions, similar to those measured in the better-characterized Isua
Supracrustal Belt. This is the first time in 40 years that an early
Archean supracrustal belt has been opened up for study.
