This work describes the implementation of table lookup coordinates (-TAB) in WCSLIB subject, in particular, to the constraints that WCSLIB remain independent of the FITS I/O library (e.g. CFITSIO) used to read the coordinate array and index vectors from the binary table extension(s) while presenting a simple interface to the application programmer.
