Planets: Migration
Scientific paper
We review theories of planet migration. We outline the calculation of
the tidal torque (leading to orbital drift) based on the linear analysis
of the waves excited by a small mass planet, and we present the
calculation of the criteria for gap opening by a more massive planet.
