Extra-Solar Planets: Detection
Scientific paper
Almost all the 170 extrasolar planets which are known today were detected this last 10 years thanks to radial velocity measurements. This demonstrates the high efficiency and powerful of this method. This chapter is devoted to present this indirect method of exoplanets detection, to indicate the main limitations of the technique, to list the measured parameters, to show its complementarity with photometry and to identify some prospects for the coming years.
