Using the mapping-phase radial component of the MGS magnetic data a
compatible 80-degree magnetic field model of Mars is derived. It is
least contaminated by non-crustal sources, allowing downward
continuation of the model and accurately delineating details of the
small-scale magnetic anomalies.
