Radiative transfer with complete frequency redistribution in a one-dimensional full- or half-space with no incoming radiation is analyzed in the limit of small epsilon. It is shown that an asymptotic expansion can be performed in the case of complete frequency redistribution. The coherent-scattering problem is also discussed for purposes of comparison. An asymptotic expansion for specific intensity is derived from an asymptotic expansion for the source function.
