The time required for neutronization of magnetized matter after hydrogen, helium, carbon, and iron have attained the thermodynamically necessary critical density is estimated. It is shown that superstrong magnetic fields with intensities of 10 to the (15th to 17th) power G reduce the required time by one to three orders of magnitude. The critical magnetic fields for a given mass density of matter are determined above which a relativistic electron gas cannot be considered as degenerate and perfect.
