Previous studies of the radial velocities of Balmer lines and the variation of effective gravity are discussed for the Ap star HD 124244 (HR 5313, CU Vir). Results are reported for spectroscopic observations of this star carried out with a dispersion of 12.3 A/mm. Features observed include two 'starspots' each of silicon and magnesium as well as one helium 'spot'. It is shown that all observations of HD 124244 can in principle be explained by an oblique-rotator model.
