Low-mass hydrogen-rich envelopes on the surface of white dwarfs can yield Eddington luminosities radiated in the extreme ultraviolet for about 100 years. About 1000 such sources may exist in our Galaxy, the nearest being approximately 400 pc away. These EUV objects' energy contribution to the interstellar medium should match that of the sdO stars and cooling white dwarfs.
