A full correlation analysis (FCA) technique is compared with interferometer measurements of meteor trails. Two FCA systems are employed - the real-time wind system (RTW), which measures the wind using signal magnitudes, and the coherent system (COHRTW) utilizing coherent integration. The meteor-trail equipment, operation, phase calibration, and analysis are outlined. One direct meteor-COHRTW batch of data for two hours for a layer 100 - 106 km is presented. A long-term comparison between the night-time hourly RTW and meteor-trail data is assessed, and it is demonstrated that the system is measuring winds; a major drawback is, though, that there are few trails, and those measured are not uniformly distributed in azimuth.
