By using macroscopic analysis, it is shown that, after the entire mass of a rocket has been used up for generating thrust, zero-mass objects with energy may result which move with the velocity of light. It is further shown that the acceleration of such zero-mass objects may be achieved within a finite period of time from the point of view of an observer. The high star luminosity of quasars and some jet motions observed in the far space can be explained in terms of internal motions involving the release of high energies inside the stars.
