Expressions are obtained for radiation-pressure efficiency factors in the case of oblique incidence of radiation with arbitrary polarization on a prolate or oblate spheroid. It is shown that, for values of alpha (the angle between the incident ray and the rotation axis of the spheroid) other than 0 or 90 deg, a transversal component (besides the radial component) of the radiation pressure arises. Calculations show that, for spheroids with a semiaxis ratio between semiaxes of about 1.5, the nonradial component becomes significantly greater than zero. It is suggested that this component plays an important role in the motion of interstellar and interplanetary dust particles.
