The limit-cycle model for coronal loops proposed by Kuin and Martens (1982) was criticized by Craig and Schulkes (1985) mainly on the basis of linear stability theory. This paper explores the question of whether global loop simulations provide evidence of limit-cycle behavior. It is pointed out that, in the case of both stable and unstable coronal loops, the phase-space evolution of the coronal temperature and density does not accord with the limit-cycle model.
