A two-dimensional numerical code is used to assess the evolution of large expanding shells generated by winds and supernovae from OB associations. Attention is given to the energy input rate, the Galactic atmosphere density distribution law, and the evaporation process. It is found that a blow-out of the gaseous Galactic disk is a characteristic result of shell evolution with an energy of 10 to the 38th erg/sec or higher.
