A polarimetric investigation has been conducted of dark patches in northern globular clusters, using polarimetry to disentangle readings from dust within the cluster from those in its foreground. The measurements obtained are in good agreement with those of previous studies. Observations of M 15 yield confirmation of enhanced polarization in the direction of an 'historical' dark patch likely caused by the fluctuation of interstellar polarization. Calculations indicate that the size of the dark patches and the wavelength variation of the apparent extinction are generally consistent with that expected for holes in the star distribution.
