We explain analytically the secular evolution seen recently by Innanen, Mikkola, & Wiegert when they conducted numerical integrations of the solar system planets without the Earth-Moon system. We show that the secular resonance they found is a classic result of secular perturbation theory, and we argue that it is not relevant to the stability of the inner solar system.
