Time Series: Numerical Methods, Cataclysmic Binaries: Quasi-Periodic Oscillations
Scientific paper
The CLEAN spectral analysis method for unequally spaced data is discussed and the method is tested with modeling signals. The effectiveness of the CLEAN method has been confirmed for time series with noises. Its advantage in removing sidelobes is significant. The inversions of CLEAN spectra reproduce the initial time series with some reductions in amplitudes. This method has been applied to analyze the photometric data of the cataclysmic variable TT Ari. The 19.8 and 19.3 min quasi-periodic oscillations have been detected in blue and yellow lights, respectively.
