An extended ion tail of comet Halley has been observed on November 12 - 13, 1985. The position angle of the projected direction of this ion tail changed rapidly from 240° to 180° in about 8 hours, since its direction is nearly parallel to the line of sight. The tail direction deviates from the anti-solar direction by 10°. This tail is generated from the southern region of the coma, whose origin is a jet blowing up to the south.
