We report the results of spectroscopic (3800-5800 A, R 16000) and near-IR photometric (JHKLM) observations of two B-type stars with large IR excesses and an uncertain nature and evolutionary state: HD 85567 and Hen3-140. A large near-IR excess is found in Hen3-140 for the first time. The presence of the double-peaked Balmer and Fe II lines in emission is detected. The He I lines are found in absorption, but most of them are significantly weaker than the photospheric profiles for the solar abundance. Fundamental parameters of the stars are estimated on the basis of both photometric and spectroscopic data. The stars seem to be members of a small group of similar objects, in which peculiarities might be due to a binary nature (e.g., Miroshnichenko, Corporon, Sheikina, 1999, BAAS, 31, 845). This work has been supproted in part by NASA grant NAG-8054 to the Univ. of Toledo, and by a Cottrell Scholars Award to KSB from the Research Corporation.
