We report Lyman-Beta observation of the sky background obtained by the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopy Explorer (FUSE). The telescope was pointing a dusty molecular cloud to avoid contamination of the faint interplanetary medium (IPM) emission by more distant hot interstellar medium emissions. The exposure time was long enough to reach a signal to noise sufficient to separate out the IPM Lyman-Beta line from the strong Earth's geocoronal emission. From their relative Doppler shift we derive the bulk velocity of the interstellar hydrogen atoms in the inner heliosphere. Comparing these results, deduced from the optically thin Lyman-Beta line, with the ones previously deduced from Lyman-Alpha observations, will allow to refine our knowledge of the deceleration processes of the IPM neutral hydrogen in the transition region wrapping the heliopause. This research is supported by NASA contract NAS5-32985.
