We have analyzed Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer Proportional Counter Array observations of the pulsed emission from SGR 1806-20 during November 1996, and a large fraction of 1999. Combining these measurements with previous results, we construct a period history of this source for 5.5 years. We compare the spin behavior of this SGR to its burst history over the same time interval. We draw comparisons between the spin histories of SGR 1806-20 and SGR 1900+14, and discuss their behavior in the context of the magnetar model.
