An analysis of IRAS data provided material for a catalog of IR point sources and sky maps of IR emission. The IRAS-related studies carried out at the Observatory in Leiden are described, including the work on zodiacal light, external galaxies, and the newly discovered infrared cirrus. Maps were obtained which for the first time describe the emission from several supernova remnants. Special attention is given to the highly evolved stars in the bulge of the Galaxy.
