Scientific paper

The topics considered are in the fields of basic observational and laboratory data of dust properties, properties of dense clouds and circumstellar dust shells, and very young stellar objects and star formation in molecular clouds. Special attention is given to the role of grains in molecular chemical evolution, carbon molecules as possible carriers of diffuse interstellar bands, and the relation between molecular clouds and stellar kinematics. Consideration is also given to the circumstellar dust shells around very young and massive stars, centers of activity in dust clouds, and self-regulated star formation and evolution of stellar systems.
