We present initial results on the mean ages and disk properties of stars in three fields surrounding but not including the Trapezium. Approximately 1700 stars have been surveyed in U, V, and I bands to limiting magnitudes of ~ 20, ~ 18, and ~ 17 respectively, or approximately 0.3 M_&sun;. Using UV excess as an indication of active accretion and disk presence, we find about 125 stars to be likely disk candidates. We expect to be able to constrain models of mass accretion as a function of age. This work is part of a larger study of the angular momentum evolution among a sample of stars in Orion thought to span a wide range of ages ( ~ 0.1 Myr to ~ 10 Myr).
