The calculation of Fourier decomposition parameters of Cepheid light curves is discussed, and it is demonstrated that standard errors in the least squares sense can be calculated for all Fourier parameters. The study indicates that the overall fitting parameters, provided by the standard deviation of the fit, often give little information about the accuracy of individual Fourier parameters, while the directly calculated standard errors give realistic uncertainties. The unit-lag autocorrelation function provides useful information for choosing the optimum order of decomposition. It is noted that improved observational data are needed for confirmation or disproof of the presence of tight progression sequences among the RR Lyrae stars in M15.
