Long-slit spectrophotometric observations of eight low luminosity Blue Compact Galaxies obtained with the 193 cm Haute Provence Observatory telescope are reported. Physical conditions and abundances are derived from the relative emission line intensities, and oxygen abundances are found to be systematically lower, and helium abundances slightly higher, than previous results. Comparison between the radial velocities obtained and previous results shows good general agreement.
