We present a new UBVI color magnitude diagram of a region close to the core of 47 Tuc. The data were taken at the CTIO 0.9m telescope as part of a variability study which will be reported elsewhere. The exposure time of each individual image was such that the giants were not saturated. However, so many images were obtained that the summed CMD in U-B extends to 5 magnitudes below the main sequence turnoff, providing an unusually large dynamic range from a single data set. Here we report studies of the blue straggler sequence. We apply the models of Sills and Bailyn (1999 ApJ in press) to the blue stragglers, and comment on the origin and evolution of this particular sequence.
